The need for a Gospel Movement in Australia is great. There are over a million university students across the country and they have very limited exposure to the Gospel. Although 12 million Australians claim to be Christian, less than 10% regularly attend church. Those numbers are even lower among university-aged students. Postmodernism and Atheism have a tight grip on the beliefs of the younger generation.

That said, Australia’s spirit of adventure and proximity to Southeast Asia makes it an ideal environment for developing the next generation of laborers who are willing to be sent out to the nations. Australia truly is a sleeping giant when it comes to missionary sending potential.

Campus Outreach, which is known locally as Uni Impact, is located at The University of Queensland, which is consistently ranked as one of the top 50 universities in the world. The University is located in Brisbane, which has a population of nearly 2.3 million people, making it Australia’s third largest city, and is also the capital of the state of Queensland. The team there hopes to see God bring Australians to Himself and grow them into lifelong laborers to be sent out all over the globe.

Building laborers is a team effort in Brisbane. It is anchored by a strong long-term team, but with over 50,000 students at The University of Queensland there is a great need for the next generation of staff to help relate and connect with students.
